• Ability to store the app on the SD card. Widgets will not be available if you choose to use this function. This is a feature of the Android system.

If you choose to receive push notifications, a unique identifier relating to your device will be stored by ProcessOne on behalf of the BBC to provide you with the service.
No other personal data relating to you (such as a username or email address) is processed. The BBC will keep your information secure and not share it with anyone else in accordance with the BBC’s Privacy and Cookies Policy, available at http://www.bbc.co.uk/privacy/
You can choose to unsubscribe from push notifications in the app’s settings screen.
Permissions:
• INTERNET: Used to get the latest news content from the BBC
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to determine whether you are on 3G or WiFi to deliver the best quality content
• WAKE_LOCK: Used if you enable background updates in settings
• GET_ACCOUNTS: Used to determine if your device is capable of receiving Push messages
• C2D_RECEIVE/C2D_MESSAGE: Used to receive Push messages if you opt in

The app is great but... The app is great but the news articles frequently contain spelling and grammatical errors that sometimes alter the meaning of a sentence. This is a serious issue that has not been addressed. I'm seriously thinking of switching to another news provider on account of this. UPDATE: just recently this issue seems to have been addressed. It's still not 100% but it is a lot better. Let's see if it stays that way.

Setting the bar Great design, no permissions needed. Genuinely great app. Promises to give me the news without trying to steal any of my personal info. This is what the web was designer to be before it went all corporate.

Great A couple suggestions to make this a 5-star app. One is that I would like a 4x4 widget that allows me to display 4 news categories (top stories, health, sports, etc). Another suggestion is I would like the ability to tap the picture for an enlarged image. I do like the offline (cached) reading feature so I can read stories even when I don't have reception.
